Cosmology

The Universe is like an Onion:

1. Elemental Chaos: The center of the Universe, the source of all energy and matter
2. Feywild: The First World, who gets the most Life from Chaos
3. Prime: The Middle Earth, Midgård, Prime Material
4. Shadowfell: Hades, where light and life are spent to a faint shadow
5. Astral Sea: The empty shell around the Worlds, that houses the houses of the Gods
6. Far Realm: The Outside, the abode of the drooling Horrors across the Threshold

In the beginning there was only Chaos, which the Gods tried to compress to control it. The forces of Chaos do not tolerate the slightest control, so they are at eternal war with the Gods.

In the border between Chaos and the Gods, where the Astral order gave structure to the pure energy of Chaos, appeared the worlds. Souls are born in Chaos, and they travel through the worlds from inside out, using up their energy, ending up as only memories of Life with the Gods, or in the eternal emptiness.
